You'll complete 8 core subjects across various topics and 2 research project subjects. You'll study 1 subject at a time in 7-week blocks.

Prerequisite pathway

Students with a non-related bachelor’s degree and without relevant work experience have the opportunity to enrol in the online MBA programme upon the completion of the Fundamental Business Studies prerequisite subject, which can be completed within 7 weeks.

This non-credit bridging subject covers 5 key topics as per MQA programme standards – Managing People, Managing Financial Resources, Understanding Customers and Marketing Concepts, Strategic Planning, and Understanding the Business Environment – and tests students’ ability to study online independently.

Qualify with APEL.A

Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning for Access (APEL.A) T-7 is catered to individuals with work experience who want to pursue a master’s qualification, but do not possess a bachelor’s degree.

APEL.A evaluates the experiential learning gained from formal, informal, and non-formal learning to determine an individual’s readiness to join a programme of study – transforming your job experience into an official qualification for entry. Learn more about APEL.A.

Eligibility requirements include:

Malaysian citizen
At least 30 years old
Possess at least an STPM/Diploma/equivalent qualification
Possess relevant work experience

Academic Requirement

A bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00 or its equivalent qualifications as accepted by HEP Senate. Applicants with a score of less than 2.50 will be assessed for entry on a case-by-case basis.

OR

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a non-related field with CGPA higher than 2.00, with at least two years' relevant work experience*.

OR

The completion of a prerequisite subject specified by the University for those with a bachelor’s degree in a non-related discipline, with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 as accepted by the HEP Senate, and without relevant work experience.

OR

An APEL.A Certification (T-7) (Recognition of Prior Learning).

*Experience can be cumulative experience gained prior to acquiring a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification. However, the experience must be relevant to both the programme’s level of study and content.

English Language Requirement

Applicants whose medium of instruction for their first degree was not English will be required to provide evidence of language ability via an IELTS (average score of 6.0) or TOEFL (score of 600 - paper-based or score of 250 - computer-based) test result.

Sunway University's online MBA can be completed in 24 months with part-time study. You'll study 1 subject at a time during each 7-week block.

The standard eligibility criteria for Sunway University's online Master of Business Administration are:
